My inspiration for this book grew out of my own experience studying art history. I spent years studying the great masters, yet women artists were rarely given the same attention in the classroom. When I discovered that no children’s books existed about Berthe Morisot and her role in the Impressionist movement, I knew her story deserved to be shared with young readers.

About Illustrator Rosanna Tasker
Rosanna is a freelance illustrator from Shrewsbury, UK. She creates semi-surreal scenes and narratives, with a particular passion for the magic of the natural world. Using a stylised, limited colour palette of gouache, Rosanna paints delicate, intricate forms, complimented by pencil and pastel mark-making and rich handmade paper textures. She works internationally on a variety of projects, including publishing, editorial and bespoke commissions.
