Today’s Picture Book Postcard is from Pig of No Ifs, Ands, Or Butts.
A well-meaning narrator bans anything “inappropriate”—no ifs, ands, or buts—only to have the characters revolt over the fact that they do, in fact, have butts, spiraling into comic chaos that forces the narrator to realize that without unruly characters, there is no story.
No Ifs, Ands, Or Butts

I was coming up with funny pun titles using various idioms, and immediately knew I had something funny with the title, NO IFS, ANDS, OR BUTTS. And since so many picture books are being banned for ridiculous reasons like pictures of kids’ bare butts, I thought it would be fun to write a book where the narrator wants to ban butts from the book. Which, of course, as my characters point out, is absurd. We all have butts and there is nothing shameful about them.
