Today’s Picture Book Postcard is from Jack of Set Sail for School.
Ahoy! Jack is off to school, but his school is no ordinary one! From waking up in his hammock to learning his A, B… Arrrs! every moment of Jack’s day is full of pirate-y fun and surprises. With rollicking verses and clever, pirate-themed “anti-rhymes” with each page turn, Set Sail for School turns the school day into a high-seas adventure.

I love surprising page turns in picture books and was imagining ways to have readers expect one thing only to turn the page and find something very different.
