Author Friends, Will You Send Me a Postcard?

My dear author friends,

I am so excited that you have a new picture book or middle grade novel on the market (or coming out soon), and I was wondering… Will you send me a postcard?

Let me explain. I’ve created two new postcard-themed book blog series called Picture Book Postcards and Middle Grade Greetings. I hope you will consider allowing me to feature your new book in an upcoming blog post.

WHAT ARE PICTURE BOOK POSTCARDS AND MIDDLE GRADE GREETINGS?

It’s an exciting new resource for librarians, educators, and parents. This on-going series spotlights brand new books available for pre-order or purchase. Each post features a new book on the market, the author’s inspiration for that book, and a postcard from one of the book’s characters.

WHO WILL READ PICTURE BOOK POSTCARDS AND MIDDLE GRADE GREETINGS?

This fun new blog series has a multi-faceted audience: librarians, educators, parents, other authors… and readers, too.

Additionally, these blog posts will be shared again in a monthly roundup email called the Postcard Mailbag.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE?

If you have a recent traditionally published picture book or middle grade novel, then we are interested in hearing from you!

WILL YOU SEND ME A POSTCARD?

If you are interested in a feature on this new blog series, please complete the appropriate submission form below to get started.

• For Picture Book Authors: Picture Book Postcard Submission Form
• For Middle Grade Authors: Middle Grade Greetings Submission Form

To complete this form, you will need to provide some basic information including title, author name, illustrator name, publisher, preorder and/or release dates. The form also asks for a brief description of the story (book jacket copy works great for this), your inspiration for writing this story, and a short author bio.

Most importantly, you will need to write a very brief (1-3 sentences) message to readers from one of the book characters.
